(Sherman Oaks, CA – October 18, 2015) – The 25th Annual Sherman Oaks Street Fair—the largest event in the San Fernando Valley—is scheduled for Sunday, October 18 from 10am to 6pm. Located on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California, the fair stretches 9 blocks from Van Nuys Blvd. to Kester Blvd. Admission is free with 100,000 people expected this year.

Billed as a celebration of Southern California heritage and culture, the fair features over 200 vendors displays, and exhibits, food courts, food truck zone, and a cocktail lounge. Major attractions include a Beepi Classic Car and Hot Rod Show, a Wells Fargo Carnival & Fun Zone, and a Community Performing Arts Stage presented by Ford.

This year’s Street Fair will feature a major concert stage with four classic acts, including Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats. Catch A Wave recreates a 1963 Beach Boys concert and The Outta Sites capture the spirit of the Sunset Strip in the 60s replete with go go dancers. SoCal country music star Tom Maclear will open the concert.

The Batmobile will celebrate its 50th anniversary (it was completed and delivered to 25th Century Fox for the TV series in October of 1965) along with the 90th birthday of its creator, George Barris the King of Kustomizers. Other exhibits will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the passing of James Dean and the release of Rebel Without A Cause. The 60th anniversary of Broderick Crawford’s TV series, Highway Patrol, will be celebrated with a 1955 Buick Highway Patrol car from the Gary Goltz collection.

Ian Whitcomb, the 1965 British Invasion star who scored a top hit with “You Turn Me On,” is the event’s master of ceremonies.
